What We Do

networking

         Networking

All the fellows that go through our Fellowship Training Programmes and the organisations and partners we work with become part of the LEAD Africa Family. This "family" is a virtual and real network that spans over 40 countries across Africa.

The LEAD Africa network is a talent bank and a shared resource for leaders and leading organisations across Africa to work collaboratively on developing sustainable solutions to the development challenges facing the continent. Our convening power as a network allows us to offer a strong civil society voice on issues that affect the continent, whilst retaining local and regional specificities. In a world of increasing global interdependence, the linkages we offer to Africans through the global LEAD network are invaluable. The LEAD Africa network members and partners can work collaboratively with their counterparts in Asia and Latin, America, Europe and North America to build collective and effective action on development issues.
Policy dialogue and advocacy for sustainable development LEAD Africa seeks to support and promote the development and implementation on policy action designed to advance sustainable development in Africa. We do this by facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues, reporting on policy successes and failures in praxis, preparing and issuing position papers on specific topics and active participation through the network.
LEAD Africa recognises the importance of policy on sustainable development, as it is only through the formulation and implementation of good and sound policies that development will be achieved on a pan African level. LEAD Africa has for example presented a position paper on the debate of an African Government and made other contributions to debates on policy and development in Africa. Furthermore, the LEAD programmes in Africa are working towards influencing national policies and advocating for good practices in sustainable development.
