During the past years, significant progresses have been achieved in Africa with regards to the economy as well as democratic governance. Yet the continent continues to be perceived negatively by the public opinion of the North. this 12 part documentary series will attempt to draw a fair and balanced image of Africa portraying the current positive developments in the continent, as to balance out the current negative image often shown in the media. The programme is being produced with the help of volunteers and thanks to the financial contribution of the AfBD.
Participatory Geographical Information System (PGIS) in Local Development in Africa
This program focuses around ICT, NRM and local development, and more specifically how PGIS can contribute to the improvement of natural resource management in local development.This a 3 year program that will likely start in late 2009 with the IDRC and various partner institutions and organisations in countries such as Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Kenya, Benin and Tunisia.
